Chippenham River Festival 2011 – Visit our new website!

The Chippenham River Festival 2011 will be held on 27th and 28th August 2011. The theme will be “Wind in the Willows – Messing About on the River”!

Events for 2011:

The Invensys Rail Raft Race and the Big Swim will be on the Saturday and Sunday respectively. The aim is to sign up 40 rafts (16 last year) and we have already registered 50 swimmers!

Invensys Rail have already pledged a gold sponsorship of the raft race, and Borough Parade and Emery Gate shopping centres have taken Silver Sponsorships – thanks so much!

The White Helmets motorcycle display team from the Royal Signals Regiment of the British Army will be performing at 11am and 3 pm on Sunday 28th August. Also on Sunday will be the first rowing flotilla with a single skull, a double and a four showing their skills: One of Steve Redgrave’s ‘Olympic four’ boats will be on display on shore.
